Digital Skills for the Family
This is a free series of 5 workshops that can be completed as a whole course or individually. It is intended to support parents and carers who want to develop and improve a range of basic computer skills.
What will I learn?
The 5 workshops will cover the following:
Week 1: Microsoft Word

Accessing Microsoft Word to create a letter and a C.V.
Week 2: Emails

You will probably already have an email account in order to be able to access this course. This session is about building your confidence in using emails and will include attaching, sending and receiving a document or image and email safety.
Week 3: E-safety

Understanding how to keep yourself safe on the internet.
Week 4: Keeping your family safe on the internet

Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of our children using the internet.
Week 5: Internet searches

Learn how you can access the internet on a day-to-day basis.
Through taking part in this course you will find that your own confidence and self-esteem in using computers will also improve.
