Are you interested in Working in Care?

Luton Adult learning working with Health Education are running an 18 week course (one session a week) to complete the Level 1 and 2 Preparing to work in Adult Social Care. We will be embedding IT skills as well as presentation skills. For those successful learners you will be offered the opportunity of an interview with a Local Employer including LBC, which could lead to a job.

You will be supported in class, along with one to one support and drop in sessions. We also have invited guests including LBC managers who will talk with you about working in Adult Care.

Sessions will start on 11th July, classes will run every Tuesday 9:30 to 12:30.

Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care 

This is offered at Level 2 and Level 3. These qualifications introduce the knowledge elements relating to working in an adult social care environment but do not confirm competence.


Diploma in Adult Social Care (Adults) 

This is offered at Level 2 and Level 3. These qualifications are suitable for anyone who has knowledge and skills in the Adult Social Care workforce. They may be care assistants, key workers, support workers, healthcare assistants or personal assistants. Following taught sessions or tutorials the teacher/assessor will arrange visits to the workplace to observe practice and offer support as required. During the course an e-portfolio of work will be built demonstrating ability and knowledge. Before enrolling on this course you require a placement of a minimum of 9 hours per week in a care setting.
