Pre-Access Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Education and Employment (Education focussed)

This is a knowledge based qualification suitable for anyone interested in developing a career in the education sector with a particular focus on supporting learning. This could include for example youth work, early years, family learning or work in schools. It is a good choice for anyone who might be considering further study such as an Access to Higher Education course.

What are the course entry requirements?

You should be working towards of Level 2 English to complete this qualification. If you haven’t recently completed an English and maths initial assessment with us, you might be asked to complete one before you join the course.

At the start of the course you will take part in two initial assessment sessions that will help us to ensure you are on the right course. This will include some homework activities. How you perform in these two sessions will inform our decision to register you on this qualification.

How is the qualification delivered and assessed?

This is a yearlong course with weekly taught sessions including regular homework activities, assignments and self-study tasks. This course is planned to be delivered online via Zoom, though depending on current restrictions some face to face sessions made be planned. You will need access to the internet and a laptop or tablet to take part in them.

During this course you will build an e-portfolio of work where you will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding through activities and assignments.
