Family Open Day

Come and meet Luton Adult Learning Family Learning Team and the Luton Family Hubs Team at our open day on Saturday 27th April from 11am to 2pm in our centre on the 2nd Floor of Arndale House (access via The Mall). 

Find out about Luton Family Hubs and what they have to offer. There will be goody bags and giveaways on a first come, first served basis. 

There will be some free activities for families to take part in including a colouring prize draw and a treasure hunt prize draw. 

There will be four free* workshops available to sign up to that start at 11.30am. Visit our Family Learning enrolment page to enrol. Pre-booking is essential.

Please only book onto ONE workshop as they are all taking place at the same time. Please do not sign up for a workshop that you have previously attended with us.

Connect with Colour 

This workshop is a Family Art for Wellbeing workshop. You and your child will make a colour chart and/or a doodle to see how your emotions are connected to different colours. There will be opportunities to use collage, colouring or painting techniques.

 

Let's Go Fly a Kite 

Kite flying is a great way to encourage children to get outside and exercise! Come to our kite making session to find out more about the benefits of kite flying and to have fun with your child whilst making your own kite.

Communication and Active Listening 

This workshop comes from our series of Encouraging Positive Behaviour in Children workshops. It focuses on helping you as a parent or carer to use a variety of ways to develop open communication with your child or children, including active listening.

 

Family Digital Safety on Smartphones 

This workshop is aimed at any parent or carer who uses a smartphone and is unsure of how to keep their phone and accounts private and secure. It will help you to understand more about the key principles of internet safety.

Please note that these Parent/Carer and Child workshops are aimed at parents/carers with children aged between 3 and 11. 

Family learning is an opportunity for parents and carers to learn alone or alongside their child with the guidance of one of our expert family learning teachers. We ask politely that you:
