Volunteers’ Week returned this year after reaching its 40th anniversary last year. From 2 to 8 June 2025, Luton Adult Learning joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK.
The celebrations aim to foster connections between national organisations and grassroots groups, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.
This Volunteers’ Week Luton Adult Learning celebrated volunteers with an event in the Hub at Arndale House on Wednesday 4 June 2025.
Representatives from Brown Books community bookshop, Luton Borough Council – Parks and Countryside Service, The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire, Flying Start Luton, Penrose Roots, Citizens Advice Luton and Luton Foodbank came along to provide information about their organisation and volunteering opportunities that are available in the local area.
