Passport to Supporting in Schools
Do you want to work in a support role in school? Maybe as a teaching assistant, a midday supervisor, a behaviour assistant, a site agent or in an administrative role?
Then this course is for you…
During this two session course you will:

identify the skills and qualifications required to work in a supporting role in a school
-
recognise the importance of safeguarding children in school
-
identify how to promote health & safety in a school setting
-
improve your knowledge of equality & diversity and how to promote this in a school
-
identify your next steps to gaining work in a supporting role in school
Passport to Supporting in Schools is a 6 hour course, delivered over two 3 hour sessions held online via Zoom or face to face. You will be required to attend both sessions and complete one or two tasks independently at home between the taught sessions.
What do I need to take part in this course?
If your session is delivered online you will need access to the internet on a computer, tablet or smart phone to be able to join in the Zoom sessions and to access online resources posted on a Padlet. You will also need an email address so you can correspond with the teacher.
For a face to face workshop just bring yourself, a pen and paper.
What will I be expected to do before the course?
Please check your emails / mobile telephones for information from the teacher.
What will I be expected to do during the course?
You will be expected to:

arrive on time to the session

actively take part in the session

complete any activities that are set

complete an evaluation form at the end of the session
