Why did you want to start a course with Luton Adult Learning?
I wanted to get out of the house more and enhance my skills. My goal is to become a primary school teacher.
Which courses did you do?
I did two apprenticeships – one with Inspire and one called Activity Leadership at Southfield Primary School.
What are you doing now?
I’m doing Level 2 Functional Skills English and maths now. Next, I’d like to do my GCSEs and then go to Uni to study to become a primary school teacher. In the meantime, I’ll be starting my new job as a general kitchen assistant.
Being on these courses has given me more of a focus. I’ve enjoyed being with good learners and I’ve improved my skills to prepare me for becoming a teacher. I’ve set myself a goal to complete the English and maths courses, one step at a time, and then on to GCSE.
